10 Shots

For my first shot I decided on a Close-Up. And the first thing that popped in my mind was money, because who isn't always trying to grab some! I decided to film in a darker atmosphere to give the money an element of mystery and darkness.

My next shot is a Pan, I got the idea from your video and thought that my front yard would make a great shot.

This shot is a low angle. When I was composing this shot my mind went to the effect of noticing something on the ground and getting that objects perspective of the subject,

For my close shot I tried to think of a way were I could record and be the subject for the shot . After some debating I decided my best bet was to record myself using a mirror.

For my reaction shot I noted the subjects reaction to a series of images being displayed on a screen in and increasing frequency.

For my extreme close up I thought the best subject would be my eye! Through this I could film something in a very up close way and still get movement and action in the scene.

For my action shot I decided to do something short and sweet, so I punched the camera!

For my cameo shot I decided to shoot in black and white in order to emphasize the blankness of the background behind me and make me the focal point.

For my POV shot I tried to think of something that I do everyday. Drinking water came right to mind!

For my eye level shot I decided to film the subject as if he was in a conversation and the camera was the perspective of the person talking to him.

Comments

  1. The shot I enjoyed he most was the action shot because when you punched the camera it made the action seem much more extreme. Next I liked the point of view shot since it really feels like I was drinking the water. Lastly, I liked the eye level shot because it does feel like what someone would see when talking to you.

  2. I love all your shots Reid, great job! My favorite was the close shot and the reaction shot. I really got the mysterious vibe you were going for in your close-up. The slow hand. The dim light. A piece of art, truly. Your reaction shot made me feel like you were looking at Canvas and mentally preparing to argue with a teacher about your grade. Very relatable indeed. Finally, your low angle shot made me feel like a short Freshman being judged for bumping into you in the hallways.

  3. Your shots were pretty interesting Reid. I like your reaction shot the most not only because your face had a peculiar reaction but the lighting really made it comical. Other shots that I is your pan and POV. Mainly because your POV made me want to stay hydrated and healthy while your pan gives me a good sense of an environment that you're living in.

  4. I really enjoyed your money close-up shot. not only did I enjoy the mysterious atmosphere that you established but overall you grabbing the money during that close up shot made me feel as if I was in the room with you watching you grab the money.

I also enjoyed the action shot. not only did I feel as if I was getting punched but it gave me a sense of thrill when watching the video.

I also enjoyed the point of view shot because I felt as if personally my head was tilted up and that I was drinking out of the bottle

  5. Reid, I really like the shot for your cameo shot. I like it a lot because you change the color to black and white. This gave the shot a mysterious feeling. The shot also gave me sad vibes.

The reaction shot is another one I liked because you use your resources like having something play in the background to show that you could have actually be watching something.

Your extreme close up is really good too. The close up shot shows the detail in your eyes. A bonus is that your eyes are clear which shows the reflection of what you're seeing.

  6. Reid, my favorite shot of yours had to have been your action shot. I truly was shocked to see your fist heading towards me, or rather the camera, at mach 5.
Another shot that portrayed emotion well was your extreme close up. To me at least it felt as if you had a sense of panic or stress.
Lastly, a great shot had to have been your reaction shot. I really felt your sense of confusion and disorientation as your screen changed colors so rapidly.
