Editing Week 1

This week my team and I spent team editing and compiling the footage we’ve collected thus far. For the title and fonts used for the film we decided something along the lines of Eurostile Bold Extended. We chose this due to the fact it was one of the most used fonts for Science Fiction films in the 1950’s, and because our film is a SCI-FI we decided on the font as a type of homage. For the edit itself we’re instituting a lot of harsh quick rapid cuts in order to up the tension of the scene. The only video effects used would be color grading in order to ensure that all the shots are consistent. For audio effects my team is considering doing post synchronous dubbing for the alien in order to give him more of a presence. But this point is very continuous for the group due to the fact that these additional effects could ruin the fear caused by the alien and lean more towards parody. The team really wants to strike a proper balance with the alien’s effects which might lead towards very minimal dubbing or none at all.
